Straight out of the heyday of South Florida hair metal, Rated X were the hair teasing, make up wearing, skirt chasing, bad boys of Miami's short lived Rock scene of the 80s. It must've been 86 or 87, at the Button South in Ft Lauderdale, these guys rocked... they were loud, the groupies loved them and I wanted to be them.
I had their 45 (still do), knew all their songs to a T, hung out with them a couple of times... I was the cool junior high kid... there was a high school girl in my neighborhood that hung out with these guys all the time and would take me to their parties, the band gave me this T at one of these parties... but just like VH1s Behind The Music... Big Hair... Huge Ego!
The band splits... Dave (guitar) kept the band name, cuz he had the money, and moved to California... the remaining 3 in Miami found a new guitarists (Jimmy Valentine) and formed Triple X. Talk about a mind cluttered with useless musical information!!!!!
