Every vintage collector should try and snag at least one Biba dress. Each and every Barbara Hulanicki creation is fashion gold, worthy of coveting and hunting down.
This dress is the color of cool coffee ice cream with an almost-mauve tint, the epitome of 70s-does-40s retro style, and pure London brilliance. Sculpted bodice with a flirty little keyhole . . . working button at neck . . . ruching is tacked down on the front, sides, and back. Beautifully gathered at shoulders. The sleeves are fabulously oversized, dramatic poet-style beauties, cuffed at wrists with three fabric buttons which fasten with little loops, a la Ossie/Biba. Back zipper.
Of course, being a Biba, the dress is ultra-well made . . . It has no fabric tag, but we believe that this is an acrylic jersey knit. The fabric is soft and thinnish, and the dress is unlined.
Covetable, collectible, sexy and desirable Biba! You could wear this to a party with some pretty heels just as easily as to the office with a pair of boots.
