A native New Yorker, Patti Stoecker - formerly Patti Stewart - was just a kid during the Mudd Club days... dancing the night away with the likes of the Ramones, Debbie Harry, David Johanson, and the downtown art crowd. Fashion Obsessed, she designed her own clothes and organized Fun Fashion Shows late night at New York Clubs.
As a fashion model, she spent 3 years working in Milan. During her Modeling days in Europe she graced the pages of Italian Vogue, was dressed for fashion shows by Armani and hung out quite a bit with Mr. Fiorucci.
Upon return home to Manhattan during the mid 80s, she fell in love and married photographer Karl Stoecker - well known for his Glam photography work with Roxy Music etc. A career photographer doing still-life Advertising for YSL, Lancome, and several other well known retailers, it's Karl's photography that lends a sophisticated look to Poshvintage.com. Karl's son, Luke Flynn - Grandson to the infamous screen actor Errol Flynn - shared Karl and Patti's Soho Loft, and eventually moved to Miami Beach with them and their two little girls, Sami & Sheena.
The 1929 House the Stoecker's moved in to during the early 90s was declared, by Mary Randalph Carter, to be, "A wreck of a house in Miami Beach"... as she wrote in her book, "Big City Junk"... she featured a chapter of her book on Patti's Tie Dye Heaven... Today, Posh Vintage operates from the downstairs of that House... just a stones throw from the ocean in the heart of South Beach.
After Years of Styling, Modeling, Shopping & Collecting, Patti began to consign her finds to some local vintage boutiques as a hobby. Additionally, her line of expertly tie dyed vintage slip dresses sold so well in South Beach Boutiques, she found it difficult to keep up with the demand for her candy colored, one of a kind creations.
The Time was right for Posh Vintage... Patti's vision of beauty, character, function, feeling, fashion is what makes the site work; the feeling is like looking at an eclectic, yet cohesive mixture, instead of the hodgepodge and chaotic vibe of other Vintage web sites.
Headliners and unknown names mix it up at Posh vintage the same way they would at a great party. the resulting crowd is both interesting and gorgeous.
For example, you'll will find one-of-a-kind Thea Porter Couture, Bill Blass Princess Coats, The absolute best nylon jersey 70s dresses juxtaposed with plastic magazine clutches and the best ever, super soft Vintage rock and roll Tee Shirts.
What's next for Posh Vintage? The Posh House section is currently under a major renovation. This section promises to be an extension of the style and flavor that has made Posh Vintage a favorite of girls from across the globe. Another recent addition to the site has been the "New Designer" section, which showcases original pieces by contemporary Miami Designers.
